SUBARU IS THE SAFEST CAR IN ITS CLASS

Euro NCAP published the results of 2019 where Subaru cars received the highest safety scores.

At the beginning of development of the auto industry, nobody thought about the safety of vehicles. The engineers realize much later that if a car body or a frame is not collapsible during a collision, then all the energy from the collision is transferred directly to a passenger compartment. In this case, a strong collision almost always leads to death.

Subaru was one of the first companies which began to conduct tests to ensure the safety of passengers and created afterwards the first anthropomorphic dummy-pedestrian. The first factory tests date back to 1965 when deformation zones were tested in a head-on collision.

Euro NCAP, an independent European organization, which conducts car crash tests and evaluates new cars of the auto market from the viewpoint of active and passive safety for more than 20 years, has summed up the results of 2019 where all Subaru models has received the highest scores and the maximum number of stars – five out of five.

The crossovers show the maximum degree of passenger protection thanks to safety technologies:

  • A-line SUBARU BOXER engine with a low center of gravity and vibration level;
  • Symmetrical AWD with even load distribution on all four wheels;
  • Improved driving dynamics, handling, driving comfort, and a high level of passive safety thanks to the Subaru Global Platform (a ring-shaped bearing frame that protects the interior from impact effects in frontal, frontal off-set, side, and rear collisions where high-strength steel is used so that the platform stiffness increases by 100% compared to the previous model);
  • Improved visibility, which provides excellent visibility in all directions;
  • Electronic assistants such as Steering Responsive Headlight (SRH), Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD), and Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB);
  • EyeSight Driver Assist system includes a number of high-tech systems and driving assistants to help prevent collisions or reduce damage in collisions.

The motto of Subaru is “Confidence in Motion”.

The word “Confidence” expresses Subaru’s attitude to the trust gained among its customers and emphasizes responsibility in fulfilling the obligations undertaken to meet the requirements of current customers.

The phrase “In Motion” expresses a continuous desire to achieve even better results. Being constantly “on the move”, we are developing, meeting the expectations of customers in our constantly changing world.

* Euro NCAP (The European New Car Assessment Programme) is the European committee, which conducts independent car crash tests with an assessment of active passive safety.
** ANCAP is the first independent organization, which conducts crash tests of new cars. It was  established in 1993 by the governments of Australia and New Zealand.
